Rural crime, including hare coursing and fly-tipping, continues to have a significant impact on Braintree’s rural communities, landowners, and farmers. These offences cause damage to land and wildlife, financial loss, environmental harm, and can leave residents feeling isolated and vulnerable.
Issued: 7 Apr 2026
Status Update
In response to these concerns, the Braintree & Uttlesford Neighbourhood Policing Team has increased its focus on rural crime through targeted patrols which are intelligence-led.
